Walking through the medieval villages spread on the Tuscan hills, you discover a truly remarkable historical and artistic heritage: Villa Soraya.
Beautifully restored, the 18th century villa located on the rolling hills in the province of Pisa is a masterpiece of art and architecture.
Surrounded by a park of over 1 hectare, Villa Soraya, thanks to the care of the owners, shines with its wonderful frescoed walls and ceilings. Part of the enchanting and majestic frescoes, with use of pure gold, were made by Luigi Ademollo, an important painter of the 1700s, who also realized some works in the Ducal Palace of Lucca and in the Royal Palace of Pisa.
In perfect Tuscan style, the entrance gate introduces to the driveway delimited by secular cypresses, beyond which you can see the splendid park with several paths lined by perfectly cut bushes, tall trees, areas for citrus and medicinal plants, beekeeping, various statues, ancient seats and a large stone fountain used as a swimming pool during summer.
Fallowing the driveway, you reach the square, framed by original walls containing an ancient well, dominated by the majestic facade of the Villa and some monumental plants.
The luxury property for sale in Tuscany has three floors plus an attic level for a total of about 1520 square meters and 86 square meters of terraces. Above there is a roof deck with a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside, where the spectator's sight can wander over olive groves, orchards and vineyards of the surrounding villages and linger on the Tower of Pisa.
Entering the villa, we are greeted by a large frescoed hall with classical motifs, typical structure of the Tuscan noble villas and around which all the other rooms, including rooms for lecture and music, sitting rooms and a charming private chapel consecrated by Pope Pius VI.
At the centre of the opposite wall of the entrance we are attracted by a round arch that leads to the staircase and to other rooms on ground floor, including the large kitchen with the original fireplace, the dining room, the pantry, an additional more modern kitchen with its own dining room and a room currently used as a winter lemon house. From here you can access the garden behind the villa where outside areas for dining and relax have been created, various flowerbeds and, worthy of note, the ancient cistern for collecting rainwater. On the same floor, there are also a bathroom with a stone sink, built under the important staircase, and the accommodation for service personnel.
Going up to what is considered the noble floor we find a large atrium; on the right there are two double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and a study frescoed with stunning details in pure gold. On the left, we are surprised by the extraordinary frescoed hall, where, overwhelmed by the history that it emanates, it is impossible not to get excited.
Every detail has been kept in perfect condition, like the ancient window curtains, or renovated to its former glory through a careful restoration like the original wooden doors with tenuous colours, that harmonize well with the colours of the frescoes and invite us to proceed to the adjacent rooms, and to the magnificent living room also equipped with a balcony overlooking the cypresses avenue.
On both sides of the large central hall, there are two symmetrical areas: a spacious studio with fireplace from which you can access both a double bedroom and a terrace, from which you can admire the wooden decor of the ceilings; on the right side, there is also a bathroom.
Through the fascinating stone staircase, you reach the second floor with a central atrium that leads to seven other rooms, divided into studios, double bedrooms with their own bathrooms and a door, hidden by a wall that invites us to reach the top floor. An attic flat, consisting of eight rooms, currently used as storeroom, that, thanks to its height, could be used as additional rooms, studios or relaxing areas.
The ancient Tinaia, of about 50 square meters, currently used as a warehouse, but easily convertible into a dependence or accommodation for personnel, completes this property. Below there is a cellar of about 30 square meters, where the brick barrel vaults make it particularly suitable for the creation of a charming cellar.
