Marina di Pietrasanta – luxury villas in a corner of paradise
The sea, beach clubs, and prestigious villas
The sea, the sun, the palm trees, colorful buildings, and surfers – this is Marina di Pietrasanta. This gem is located in the Versilian riviera, along the 4-km coast between Forte dei Marmi and Lido di Camaiore. While it borders with more popular Forte dei Marmi, this area of the municipality of Pietrasanta doesn’t lack clear waters, a beautiful pier with a 360-degree view over Versilia, as well as restaurants, shops, and luxury bathing establishments. Broker Immobiliare Exclusive Real Estate lists luxury villas for sale in Versilia and in Marina di Pietrasanta.
The small plaza at the base of the pier is a great starting point to explore Marina di Pietrasanta. From here, you can head towards the pier first or the town center. The beautiful pier, which is especially picturesque after sundown thanks to its lighting, has a panoramic terrace at the end, with a beautiful view towards the mountains and over the sea. Sculptures from contemporary artists are regularly exhibited here, and they are not the only works to be admired – almost level with the panoramic terrace, a sculpture of Saint Anthony towers out of the sea.
If instead you head towards the town center first, you will cross Lungomare Roma and walk through the verdant park Piazza XXIV Maggio and head towards Viale Versilia, Marina di Pietrasanta’s pedestrian street. Both holidaymakers and dwellers enjoy the comfort of this pedestrian area for the proximity of original, independent boutiques, typically Versilian restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and ice-cream parlors. The weekly market takes place on Saturdays few streets across the Lungomare. It is set up in Via Gaetano Donizetti, Piazza Villeparisis, and the two main parking lots.
The entire fine sand coastline is dotted with high-end bathing establishments from which to choose, with beach umbrellas and tents, all well distanced to guarantee privacy. Several bathing establishments also have pool, some even with salt water and jacuzzi for maximum comfort. Not only you will have the chance to relax while sunbathing or in the pool, but also to keep fit surfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, and wave paddling thanks to the many water sports centers.
Farther from the town center, the park Versiliana – which houses the villa named after it – is Marina di Pietrasanta’s green lung. The park and the villa are greatly relevant in Italian history and literature, as the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio stayed there in 1902 and wrote the poem La Pioggia nel Pineto (Rain in the Pine Forest). The 1800s villa is nowadays used to host art exhibitions, among other events. In July and August, the Festival della Versiliana livens up the villa and park with international and Italian artists, hosting classical music concerts, theater productions, and ballet shows.
Night life leaves nothing to be desired, as Marina di Pietrasanta has some of the most famous discos in Versilia, such as Bussola, Seven Apples, Ostras, and Faruk. As well as discos and nightclubs, also bars and restaurants are all along the coastline. The pier is ideal for an after-dinner walk. From there, the view over the whole coast and lighted buildings is unparalleled. During summer nights, the Ferris wheel that is set up by the pier and the one visible from Lido di Camaiore add a touch of color.
